When setting up your course on the Map Manager, it is essential that every tee and target are assigned a ‘Type’ and a ‘Position’.

Tee Positions
The tee ‘Position’ indicates the position of the tee pad. If your course has only one tee pad per hole, the most common position to use would be ‘Main.’ If you have multiple tee pads on each hole, you want the Map Manager labeling scheme to match whatever is shown on the course signage. (Short & Long / A, B & C, etc.)
Positions help players to understand which configuration of the course is being played. If a tee position applies to multiple configurations (i.e. a certain tee is the same for the blue and red layouts) you can assign multiple positions to the same tee, but you should never combine them in your naming convention.
Target Positions
Similar to tee positions, the target positions are used to indicate the position of the target. If you only have one target position per hole, it's best to use the ‘Main’ target position. For multiple target positions per hole, make sure that your target naming scheme in Map Manager matches the positions on your course signage, e.g., short/long or A/B/C.
You should also never create positions (tee or target) for individual holes.
Types
Tee Types
The tee ‘Type’ indicates the material used for the tee pad. Common options may include concrete, grass, turf, etc.
Target Types
The target type indicates the manufacturer and model of your basket, or you can use ‘Custom/Other’ to indicate a different kind of target.
For holes that have more than one active target at the same time, each target should be given a distinct type. Even if both targets are the same manufacturer and model, you should use the custom name to distinguish between the 2 targets, (e.g., Axiom Pro Short and Axiom Pro Long). This is essential to ensure that your Smart Layouts work correctly.
