UDisc is partnering with Dynamic Discs to offer an exciting free live scoring option for 2020 Trilogy Challenges. If you're hosting a Trilogy Challenge event, this will save you hours, and make it easier to follow social distancing guidelines. There's no need to use paper scorecards, total scores by hand, or figure out what hole the last group is on.

Here, we'll outline everything you need to get started.

Set Up Your Trilogy Challenge

You will receive an email with further instructions when your event is approaching. Click the link in the email to log in and finish setting up your Trilogy Challenge. Once you're logged in, you can add details and administer your event using the Manage button.

After clicking the Manage button, use the Events tab to enter important information about your event, adjust the layout, and add divisions.

Make sure you are thorough and add as much information as possible on the Events tab. If you'd like a short informational message to show on the scorecard for all players, add a Scorecard Message.

If you'd like others to be able to manage your event, you can add more Admins on the Members tab.

Let players know your Trilogy Challenge is on UDisc

Once your Trilogy Challenge is listed in UDisc, participants will be able to discover it on the Events tab in the UDisc app. The Events tab sorts events by location, so most of your local players will see the event listed on top, provided the event starts in the near future. It's also possible to find events by searching by name or location.

Check-In And Keep Score

UDisc adds live scoring to your Trilogy Challenge. Everyone on the card can open the app and enter scores, and everyone will see the changes in real-time. This makes it easy to hand-off scoring responsibilities after a few holes and ensures that everyone can check scores as the round progresses.

Update UDisc to the latest version. Please ask all competitors to update UDisc to the latest version before they show up to play.

All players need a UDisc account. Fortunately, we've made this easy. If a player doesn't have their phone or doesn't use UDisc, another person can check them into the event. This is done by tapping the PLAYERS button on the Events tab in the UDisc app and entering an email address and username, at which point an account is created for them.

At a minimum, one person in each group must keep score. This ensures that every player is accounted for on the UDisc leaderboard.

Instruct your players to find the Trilogy Challenge in the UDisc app, under the Events tab. Have them locate or search for the name of the event. Then, tap the Check In button to check into the event. If using divisions, they will select a division at this time. Don't worry, divisions can be changed later if needed.

It is important that all players enter a real first and last name during the check-in. Otherwise, it will be difficult to tell who is who on the leaderboard.

Once all players in a group are checked in, scorecards can be created using the Create Scorecard button on the Events tab, or by using the regular Create Scorecard button on the main Rounds tab in UDisc. Make sure only one player per group creates the scorecard. Once created, everyone in the group will get a notification so they can also keep score, or follow along on their own phone.

If a player needs to be added to or removed from the scorecard after it's been created, use the menu button in the top right corner of the scorecard and choose "Add / Remove Player".

If nobody on the card wants to score on UDisc then they can use paper and you can add their scores to UDisc after they hand in the scorecard. If you need help doing this, please reach out and we'll help.

If you have a list of emails or a CSV export file from Disc Golf Scene, we can use that list to add all players to the event and email them to let them know to download/update the app. If you'd like to do this, please let us know as soon as possible.

View Live Scores

Did we mention that UDisc provides live scoring and real-time leaderboards for your Trilogy Challenge? You can view the current leaderboard by tapping the Leaderboard button in the scorecard, or by opening the Events tab in UDisc and tapping View Leaderboard.

If you want to view live scores from a computer, the website will be included in the email you receive when your Trilogy Challenge is available in UDisc. Send your players there to view the leaderboard, schedule, and other details on the web.

Make sure you share a link to your leaderboard so your family and friends can follow!

This is just the beginning of UDisc scoring for events. We will continue to add more scoring formats and solutions to make running disc golf events easier than ever before.

If you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, please reach out to us via help@udisc.com and we'll be happy to assist.
