How should I create a tournament-specific layout in UDisc?

Whether your event is adding some new tee pads and pin positions, playing one round of an abnormal number of holes, or just mixing up the hole order for tournament play, creating an event-specific layout in UDisc is a great way to ensure that all of the players know which exactly holes they're supposed to play. Safety is paramount; if seeking to play unique hole configurations or safari golf, please make sure that you receive proper permission first from the course owner or municipality.
A specific layout name and short description are required to clarify that your new tournament-specific configuration is not a duplicate of an existing layout. Feel free to include the event name in the layout name or description field (note: if your event is playing on an existing layout, please do not create a new duplicate layout). Please submit your new layout at least 48 hours before the event start time to give the UDisc team enough time to review and approve the layout.
These kinds of custom event-specific layouts should be created as Classic Layouts through the UDisc mobile app. Please see the "Create a new public layout" section of this help article for the specifics on how to do so. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the UDisc team at help@udisc.com.
If you're a Course ambassador, and would like to set up the event layout as a Smart Layout, then you should start on the Map Manager page to add any new tee pads, target locations, and holes that will be included in the layout for tournament play.
If your tournament layout is playing elements that don't exist yet on your map manager, you should add these as new holes, rather than adding new tees or targets to your existing base holes. This can be done via the Actions menu in the upper right-hand corner of the map. Here you can select Add New Holes to set up any temporary holes needed for your layout. Give these holes a unique name, and be sure to check the Temporary box. This will keep them from being added to the total number of holes listed for your course.
Since the Spectator layout plays completely separate elements from the existing course, new "Temporary" base holes were added and given unique names.
Once those updates are approved, you can create a new smart layout via the Layouts tab. Pay special attention to the Base Hole field, and consider denoting a Name to be extra specific about holes (for example, if hole 15 plays from the Gold tee pad, then you can name it 15G).
