When setting up your course on the Map Manager, it is essential that every tee and target are assigned a ‘Type’ and a ‘Label’.

Tee Types

The tee ‘Type’ indicates the material used for the tee pad. Common options may include concrete, grass, turf, etc.

Tee Labels

The tee ‘Label’ indicates the position of the tee pad. If your course has only one tee pad per hole, the most common label to use would be ‘Main.’ If you have multiple tee pads on each hole, you want the Map Manager labeling scheme to match whatever is shown on the course signage. (Short & Long / A, B & C, etc.)

Labels help players to understand which configuration of the course is being played. If a tee label applies to multiple configurations (i.e. a certain tee is the same for the blue and red layouts) you can assign multiple labels to the same tee, but you should never combine them in your naming convention.

You should also never create labels for individual holes.

Target Types

The target type indicates the manufacturer and model of your basket, or you can use ‘Custom/Other’ to indicate a different kind of target. For holes that have more than one active target at the same time, each target should be given a distinct type. Even if both targets are the same manufacturer and model, you should use the custom name to distinguish between the 2 targets. (i.e. Axiom Pro Short and Axiom Pro Long) This is essential to ensure that your Smart Layouts work correctly.

Target Labels

Similar to tee labels, the target labels are used to indicate the position of the target. If you only have one target position per hole, it is suggested you use the ‘Main’ target label. For multiple target positions per hole, make sure that your target labeling scheme in Map Manager matches the labels on your course signage.
