Have a few divisions with an odd number of players and need to combine cards? Did players drop last minute, and now you need to figure out where to place the extra players from another division? With card assignment rules, you have the power to decide whether players from different divisions can play on the same card.

After you’ve create rounds, you can then head to the Cards tab to set card assignment rules and generate cards. Tap into edit rules and scroll down to “Can players from different divisions be on the same card?” By tapping the dropdown you’ll see options to:

  • Mix divisions when necessary (preset selection) - this is appropriate if you have uneven division totals and are okay with players from other divisions playing together as necessary (e.g. you’re creating cards of 5, but MA1 has 8 players, and FA1 has 2).

  • Never mix divisions - cards will never be generated with players from multiple divisions. *Please note: this may lead to possible empty spots on cards as needed.

  • Mix divisions - all cards will include players from a mix of divisions.

If selecting Mix divisions when necessary, you’ll need to decide which divisions are able to be grouped together. This may depend on pools you’ve established, speed of play, or PDGA requirements. Whatever the reason may be, using the Move division to this group button you can select to add divisions that should play together.

In the example above, if you are okay with MPO and FPO playing together you would tap the Move division to this group button in Group 1, MPO then select FPO and tap Move division.

Once moved, Group 2 can then be deleted by tapping the trash can icon. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and make sure to click Save before generating cards.

After cards are generated, you are able to manually move players or change card assignment rules and regenerate cards as needed. Once cards have been published (and notifications sent to players), card assignment rules can’t be changed.
