Whether running a standalone event, or a league event at a course with limited cell service, please consider these recommended best practices to ensure a smooth experience for your players.
Make it a custom event!
Enable pre-registration
Having players pre-register will allow you (and any other admins) to create card groupings in advance, before anyone shows up to the course and even before the day of the event. Pre-registration gives you the opportunity to assign card groupings and publish their starting holes or tee times in advance too, which you can push to players' phones.
After you've converted or set up a Custom Event, you can go to your Event Dashboard and hit the Registration tab to enable pre-registration. You'll find the Pre-round card setup option under the Cards tab within your event admin tools.
Check in and create cards before hitting the course
Some cell carriers may provide better service than others at your course. Consider asking players who have a stronger signal to create their group's scorecard, or better yet, delegate card management to a league or event administrator who has reliable service.
